About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Data Analyst / Data Engineer to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in developing data-driven insights to drive decision-making and improve business performance. The Data Analyst will be responsible for creating dashboards and reports, as well as implementing and maintaining best practices in business intelligence. This position will require strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and refine data requirements, and ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and timely.
- Implement and maintain best practices for data quality, data governance, and data security.
- Conduct statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning to uncover trends, patterns, and relationships within the data.
- Design and optimize ETL processes to improve data processing efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and improve existing reporting tools, dashboards, and data sources to ensure relevance and accuracy.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data science, business intelligence, and related technologies to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Train and support team members on the use of business intelligence tools and best practices.
- Communicate complex data insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations, reports, and visualizations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a data analyst or data scientist role.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience in querying large, complex datasets.
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to draw insights from data.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Nice to have:
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data storage and analytics platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience in creating custom data visualization solutions using libraries such as D3.js, Plotly, or ggplot2.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools, such as Snowflake or Redshift.
- Certifications in data science, business intelligence, or related fields.
